MEET THE TEAM: SAMANTHA STILES, AP HUMAN GEOGRAPHY & VOLLEYBALL COACH

Mrs. Stiles considers herself a thoughtful and somewhat outgoing person. She feels that her husband sums her up best when he describes her as a “kind dork”. She has a strong love of history and jumps at the chance to tell people around her all about it, whether they want to hear it or not! Mrs. Stiles recently relocated to Memphis from Washington, DC, where she enjoyed volunteering some of her time bringing dogs to adoption events. She is looking forward to joining a similar program here in Memphis. When she’s not teaching AP Human Geography or coaching our girls volleyball team, she is most likely hanging out with her family and dog. When asked why she is excited about working at Crosstown High, she replied, “Crosstown is truly unlike any other school I have seen before. XTH provides students with the opportunity to directly apply what they are learning in their classrooms to the world around them. I cannot wait to see the impact and ideas students create to help better their community and the greater Memphis area.” Mrs. Stiles rolls with the punches. She tries to go with the flow as much as she can. Her chill demeanor is a calming force in our lively school. Mrs. Stiles would love to leave students with the ability to embrace change. She believes, “Change is never easy, and a sense of familiarity is always comforting. Push yourself outside your comfort zone, take a risk, and remember luck is just a byproduct of hardwork.”
