MEET THE TEAM: JONATHAN DODO, Algebra 1 Teacher

Mr. Dodo is practical, but is always looking for new ways to push the envelope. He has a holistic and spontaneous approach to life which is why he is so passionate about traveling and learning about different places and people. When he’s not working, he is most likely exploring the United States on a road trip. This graduate of Columbia University spent his whole life living in New York City so he takes every opportunity to explore the south.

Mr. Dodo is proud of the role he played in creating credit unions in his hometown to offer better financial services and access to communities that have historically been underserved by financial institutions. He hopes to use this experience and his past experience in investment banking and business in order to create an environment at Crosstown High where students feel empowered to tackle problems, and to operate within a high achieving environment with confidence.

Mr. Dodo believes one of the core principles of education is the “growth of students and smiles in the classroom.” He is excited to have the opportunity to be able to work in a school that recognizes the value of creating engaging projects that bring students together. He looks forward to creating fun activities that use important and challenging mathematical concepts to do reward work.

“Success isn't a type of job, career, college, or any one specific thing,” says Mr. Dodo. “Success is a lifestyle made up of positive skills that can be applied to anything. Focus on building up a great foundation, and success will come naturally.”
