Meet The Team: Mr. Holcomb, Director of Technology
Over the next month or so, we're going to be using these "Meet the Team" blog posts to introduce you to members of the Crosstown High Team. First up....
Scott Holcomb, Director of Technology, aka "Ed-Tech Imagineer"
Fans of the 1986 movie, “Space Camp” may recognize Mr. Holcomb as Hideo Takamini, the kid who had his badge taken away in the registration scene. He describes his brief stint as a movie actor as one of the most amazing experiences of his life, along with marrying his former Space Academy Wing Commander, April Holcomb and the birth of their daughter, Isabella (an aspiring actress herself). He believes in making a difference in education through being a great teacher, a passionate presenter, and an innovator. The “nerdy educator” side of him would tell all of his students to learn how to type, but he also wants them to know this: “Everyday is a teachable moment....use those moments!”
Mr. Holcomb is a photographer, a Walt Disney World fan, and most importantly, a parent. His yearbook caption in 1985 was “Family Man,” so it will come as no surprise that his favorite pastime is spending time with his family.
Mr. Holcomb is excited to be a part of the team at CXH because he loves the youthful energy of the team, and is excited to be working in such an amazing building. He is passionate about the integration of educational technology into the innovative learning model of our school. Mr. Holcomb’s warm and welcoming personality is a great addition to the CXH community.
